Call for Application: Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative
Are you a passionate young Nigerian striving to increase youth participation in an election in the Northeast without violence? To participate in this one-day workshop and town hall meeting on women’s issues, youth politics, and security in northeastern Nigeria, submit an application.
An project of the Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative, carried out by LEAP Africa and supported by the MacArthur Foundation and Ford Foundation, is the One Day Workshop and Town Hall Meeting.
A high-level discussion is being held to solicit suggestions from the young and other stakeholders on how to encourage civic engagement and a calm voting process in Nigeria.
Participants in the program will take part in educational exercises designed to dispel myths that can discourage voting or affect decisions.
The program was developed by LEAP Africa with funding from the MacArthur Foundation and Ford Foundation and is the result of the Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative. A strategic high-level gathering of young people and other stakeholders is taking place at the One Day Workshop on Youth Political Participation. It is intended to crowdsource ideas from young people with the goal of harnessing the most important research on young people’s political engagement in governance to promote civic engagement and a peaceful electoral process in Nigeria.
There will be training exercises in the session where participants will create models to combat myths that can discourage voting or affect their decisions.
