The Sub-Saharan Africa In-Country/In-Region Programme aims to promote strong, internationally oriented higher education systems in Sub-Saharan Africa with the capacity to contribute to sustainable development. Scholarships for development-related Master’s or doctoral studies are awarded to people who want to pursue a career in teaching and/or research at a higher education institution in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The DAAD offers PhD and Master’s scholarships as part of its “In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programme.” The program is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and is aimed at first-line university faculty, but not overlooking the public sector’s need for academically prepared professionals.
