Cambridge Middle East & North Africa Forum’s Young Leaders’ Initiative 2023
The Young Leaders’ Initiative (YLI) of the Cambridge Middle East and North Africa Forum aims to bring together bright students and young professionals in the United Kingdom who are interested in the important strategic challenges affecting the Middle East and North Africa area. The program’s goal is to build a network of emerging leaders in academia, policy analysis, and the private sector, to foster progressive collaboration between their respective disciplines, and to encourage productive policy discussions and the sharing of innovative ideas about the Middle East and North Africa region’s political, economic, and security affairs.
The YLI will give attendees with a detailed awareness of the issues and opportunities confronting today’s Middle East and North Africa area, as well as a venue for networking and collaboration with renowned professionals in policy analysis and policymaking.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Final-year undergraduate, Master’s or PhD students, or professionals under the age of 30, based in the United Kingdom
Essential requirements:
- Relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Politics, International Relations, Middle Eastern Studies, Economics, Business, War and Security Studies or a cognate discipline
- Advanced knowledge of and interest in the political and/or economic and/or security relations of the Middle East and North Africa region
- Experience in research
Additional desirable but non-essential requirements:
- Fluency in a regional language
- Experience living/studying/working in the region
