APPLY NOW: World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Nepal Memorial Scholarships 2022/2023

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Nepal Memorial Scholarships 2022/2023 are now open for applications. The WWF Nepal Memorial Scholarships were established in the aftermath of the tragic loss of some of Nepal’s greatest conservation leaders in an ill-fated helicopter accident in eastern Nepal on September 23, 2006. (Ghunsa, Taplejung).

The tragedy occurred as conservation dignitaries returned from successfully handing over management of the Kangchenjunga Conservation Area to local populations. The government of Nepal has designated September 23 as “National Conservation Day” in commemoration of the 24 people who died, as well as to commemorate their commitment to preserving Nepal’s rich natural heritage.

Recognizing the tremendous loss of leadership in conservation, WWF Nepal established the Memorial Scholarship Fund to assist students who wish to pursue careers in conservation. Through this fund WWF Nepal hopes to build a new generation of conservation leaders that takes forward Nepal’s conservation legacy.

World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Nepal Memorial Scholarships Eligibility

• Applicant must be a citizen of Nepal.
• Applicant must have applied or be admitted to an undergraduate or master’s degree programme in a conservation related field at a university in Nepal.
