Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) Young Researchers Awards 2023 for graduate students |€5,000 prize
The GBIF Secretariat is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2023 Young Researchers Award are now open. This annual initiative aims to stimulate and recognize innovative biodiversity informatics research and discovery by graduate students whose master’s and doctoral degrees rely on GBIF-mediated data.
The 2022 project will award two €5,000 prizes to two early-career researchers—ideally, one master’s and one PhD candidate—who are formally nominated by the heads of delegation and node managers of GBIF Participant countries.
GBIF Eligibility
Candidates must be enrolled in a university graduate programme to be eligible for the award. Candidates must be either
a) citizens of a country participating in GBIF
or
Nominations can come from the GBIF delegation or node of either the candidate’s country of citizenship or the country of the candidate’s host institution.
